Wiphan students pass the test!

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Wiphan Zambia, had her first grade seven class, in 2008. The class comprised of 13 pupils who sat for the grade seven exams in the month of Nov, 2008. Thereafter,  both the care-givers of the pupils and Wiphan management, ‘had their ears to the ground’ as they looked forward to the time when the results would be announced. Friday, the 9th of January 2009, the long awaited results reached Wiphan camp and to our surprise, the report of the exam results read that pupils from Wiphan school had scored 99%  pass. Out of the 13 pupils who wrote the grade seven exams last year, 12 made it into grade eight and only 1, failed to reach the cut – point.   Glory and honour, be to the Lord, our God, who does things beyond what we expect or even imagine – Eph 3;20
JUBILLEE CELEBRATION
There has been lots of JOY AND JUBILLATING at Wiphan camp, as a result of the 99% pass Wiphan school has scored. Both the care-givers and the pupils gathered at Wiphan school, in Mapalo, on Friday, to just thank God in psalms and prayers and there were TEARS OF JOY rolling down the faces of both the care-givers and the pupils. Both Wiphan management and the teachers, joined in celebrating and thanking God, for such great achievement.
WIPHAN SCHOOL ATTRACTS A LOT OF ATTENTION FROM THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY
Because of the 99% pass, Wiphan school has scored, a lot of parents, care-givers and pupils from the surrounding community, got attracted, came, wanting to enroll and to have their children, enroll at Wiphan school.  That was a very great challenge for Wiphan but God, later, gave us wisdom and we later decided that special lessons are offered to such outside pupils, after all Wiphan pupils have knocked off. They are not part of Wiphan, no but time, in the afternoon, has been created for such pupils to attend special lessons that would help them prepare for their grade seven exam in November, 2009.

Monday, the 12th January, 2009, was the official opening day for all schools in Zambia and that includes Wiphan school. Wiphan pupils at both centers gathered to open school.  The great achievement of our first grade sevens has brought a lot of confidence in all the pupils at our Wiphan schools and everyone’s confession is that ‘I WILL ALSO PASS MY GRADE SEVEN EXAM’.  Glory and honour be to the Lord, our God. Great things He has done and He is greatly to be praised. Wiphan pupils are very excited returning to school.  They are very eager to learn and are very hopeful to progress in their education, without any hinderances.
Teachers, instructors are very excited about getting back to school. Teachers, who taught the grade seven pupils last year, are extremely motivated to teach, more, because of the great achievement of the previous grade sevens.
SINIA CENTER
Both the teachers and pupils are very excited and very proud of their newly bought and renovated center.  Oooh! Sinia center is looking very wonderful and everyone is envying Sinia center.  It looks a new place altogether.

When schools open, the government of Zambia, demands every pupil to participate in cleaning the school surroundings and this is what we did with our pupils.  Pupils at Both centers, under the supervision of their teachers, got involved in the cleaning of the school surroundings and this is something that the pupils enjoyed doing. Thanks be to God, who enables us to do all things.

Labstone called for a meeting for all teachers.  He usually does this when schools open and during such a meeting, he encourages teachers to work extra  hard and he also takes time to teach teachers how to prepare class-lessons. Wiphan teachers gathered at Wiphan office and the meeting started at 10.00hrs.  Labstone just went halfway, addressing the teachers and we, suddenly received SAD NEWS OF THE PASSING ON OF PAPA SAM.P.JONES, via an e-mail. The sad news was told to the teachers and some board members who were in the office, yesterday. The meeting came to a ‘halt’ as everyone present went silent for a few minutes, to pay the last respect to Papa Jones-Senior.  We later, took time to pray and asked God to strengthen Mom – Mrs Sally Jones, the children – Kevin& his wife, Leasa and Kevin’s siblings and all the grand-children, who have been left behind.  Wiphan Zambia is very sorry for such untimely death and conveys her sincere condolences to the bereaved family. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.

All Wiphan board members met at Wiphan office, around 08.30hrs for a very special prayer meeting for the Jones family during this time of bereavement. The chairman francis, led the whole team, to pray for the Jones family that God would kindly grant strength, healing to mummy Sally, the children and all the grands. Papa Sam.P.Jones was a great donor to Wiphan-Zambia.  Wiphan-Zambia greatly appreciates the Jones-Senior’s kind generosity and we pray that God may continue to keep and bless mummy Sally. Wiphan – Zambia is with the Jones family as they mourn Papa Sam.P Jones.
Once again, Wiphan-Usa, a million thanks for your tireless efforts in supporting the work of God at Wiphan-Zambia.  Great is the reward awaiting you in Heaven! God richly bless you all.

TONNES OF LOVE,

Kunda for Wiphan.
