Clinic Progress…

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Sister Mary has continued to administer medicines and general checkups to kids and the women at both centers. The clinics are running smoothly. Both centers are visited twice a week as per arrangement. Mary has managed to see all the women in the just ended month of January. The most common complaint was that of Malaria, B/P which have been dealt with as we have enough drugs in stock! Sister Mary is also monitoring women with raised B/P, who are doing very well with NEFEDIPINE which we procured. The children, at our two centers have also been visited. Even those who were sick and were at home were visited and medication administered to them. The common ailment the kids have had are respiratory conditions (UR 71), which is the common with this rainy season. The nutritional status for most of the children has
greatly improved! Deworming has been done and at the right time when the kids needed protection after receiving the shoes. This will also help us deal with anemia problems. The addition of the Wiphan Clinic and Sister Mary have proved to be huge blessing for Wiphan orphans and widows!

Widows, orphans and Wiphan management are very grateful for Wiphan clinic.  Medical issues are nolonger an issue.  Because of the high levels of porverty amongst the widows and orphans, finding money to go to the clinic is such a GREAT CHALLENGE but thanks be to God that such a challenge has been taken care of by the Lord.

Happy Feet…

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

There was great jubilation, singing and dancing when the van carrying hundreds of shoes arrived at both centers. The kids were joyous as they each got a pair of shoes. They will no longer walk in mud or on thorns because they are now safe and their movements are not restricted.
Wiphan management, guardians and the kids are very grateful and extremely excited about the shoes. God richly bless you ( Wiphan – Usa). A million thanks for such a KIND GESTURE SHOWN to Wiphan Zambia and especially the kids.
TESTIMONIES FROM SOME KIDS
MARY, GRACE, JOHN, MARK, SUSAN TESTIFY – ‘am very grateful for the shoes’. Ever since my father and mother died, I haven’t had any one to buy me shoes,’ each one of them testified. The above mentioned five kids are double orphans, doing grade 3, at Mapalo center.
All the kids are very grateful for the shoes and are very happy. Most of the kids would have their feet pricked and cut by thorns and broken glasses and would sustain cuts on their feet. That was great AGONY for most of the kids. ‘NO MORE CUTS AND PRICKS’, ‘ NO MORE PAIN AND AGONY’, all the kids testified!
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY, HONOUR AND BLESSINGS. GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND GREATLY, HE IS TO BE PRAISED. GOD RICHLY BLESS YOUR KIND GENEROSITY, WIPHAN-USA. WIPHAN-ZAMBIA IS VERY GRATEFUL.
TONNES AND TONNES OF LOVE,
KUNDA FOR WIPHAN
