Beloveds – Wiphan-Usa,
Glory, honour, adoration, praises and thanks be to the Lord, our God, who, through His son Jesus Christ, enables us to do all things!!!. No wonder Paul has said “we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Wiphan Care Ministries, that was once JUST A DREAM, by the grace of God, has now become a REALITY – PRAISE BE TO GOD!
Monday, the 11th of May, was the day all schools across the nation of zambia, (Wiphan schools included) opened school, for the second term and this second term shall run from the 11th of May through to the 7th of August. Wiphan-kids kept reporting to their respective centers even during April holiday to have their meals but Monday the 11th of May, brought with it, extra-ordinary excitement and joy, as kids reported to their respective centers bearing in mind that holiday time was over and TIME TO START LEARNING HAD COME!
Assembly at both centers was conducted, where the Word of God was shared to Wiphan students and also prayers were conducted to commit the new term in the hands of the almighty God.
A heart-melting story was told by a grade 3 teacher from Mapalo center. As she monitored the eating of the students, she saw 2 kids eat one ban and drink part of the tea, leaving 2 bans and part of the tea and when she asked to find out why the 2 students kept some of the food they were given, they failed to answer and friends told the teacher that they always keep part of the food they recieve so that they take it to their very old grandmother, who is their care-giver. The two kids are double orphans and their very old grandmother (unable to fend for herself and her grandchildren) is the one who lives with them. I shed tears when such news got to my ears. Dinah, grade 3 class teacher, has been given an assignment to find where old mama lives and the Wiphan board will start taking mealie-meal, once a month, to old mama so that her grand children ‘graduate’ from taking food from school to her.
Four more students were seen packing food in their bags. The 4 students come from a CHILD – HEADED home. The four students are double orphans and after their parents died, all their relations rejected them and ran away from them, leaving them with no one to care for them. The 4 kids were brought to Wiphan 4 years ago now, by a ‘good Samaritan, who witnessed how relations abandoned the 4 kids. The class teacher has been given an assignment to find out where the four kids live and thereafter the 4 kids and very old mama, will be visited by both Wiphan board and the management.
Normal activities at both centers, for the young students went on very well. Students enjoyed their lessons and their meal. Students at both centers engaged in sports Janet taught them and they enjoyed the sports greatly. Wiphan’s soccer team is doing trainings as they prepare for a match against a neighboring community school, on the 5th of June.
WIPHAN-ZAMBIA HAS BECOME A ‘CAPE’ OF GOOD HOPE’ for the hopeless widows and orphans and the vulnerables generally speaking. Orphans who completely lost hope of having an opportunity to go to school, now have hope to at least even get basic education and skill that will sustain them and God shall be glorified, at the end of the day.
The song that is being sang at Wiphan is ‘BECUASE OUR REDEMMER LIVETH, WIPHAN-ZAMBIA SHALL FACE TOMORROW’. A people, whose life was covered with gross darkness, now have the light of God shine on them. A people, who once had no hope, now have hope of facing their future with lots of confidence in and through Christ – glory be to God.
TONNES AND TONNES OF LOVE,
KUNDA FOR WIPHAN.
