Kunda’s Trip Recap…

July 30th, 2009

SWEET-BELOVEDS ,

What a FAITHFUL GOD WE SERVE! GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND GREATLY, HE IS TO BE PRAISED!

JULY, THE 4TH THROUGH TO JULY, THE 10TH HAS BEEN A GREAT AND WONDERFUL WEEK INDEED!!!!

SATURDAY, 4TH JULY, 2009.
JULY, THE 4TH, WAS A GREAT DAY FOR WIPHAN ZAMBIA, WHEN THE LONG-AWAITED VISITING  U.S FRIENDS LANDED AT THE NDOLA AIRPORT, AT 3.00PM. WIPHAN BOARD AND THE SECRETARIATE WERE AT THE AIRPORT, I HOUR BEFORE THE PLANE LANDED, WAITING TO GIVE A BIG WELCOME TO THE VISITING TEAM!

WHEN THE VISITING TEAM ARRIVED, IT WAS ALL SMILES, JOY, AND GREAT CELEBRATIONS TO SEE AND MEET WITH NEW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST! WIPHAN-ZAMBIA LED THE VISITING TEAM FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CASTLE LODGE TO CHECK IN AND AFTER EVERYONE CHECKED IN AT THE LODGE, WIPHAN-ZAMBIA AGAIN LED THE VISITING TEAM TO SINIA – WIPHAN CENTER, WHERE WIPHAN LADIES AND KIDS WERE, AS THEY WAITED TO GIVE A THUNDEROUS WELCOME TO THE VISITING FRIENDS.

LATER, WIPHAN LADIES JUST GOT ‘LOST’ IN SINGING, BEATING OF DRUMS AND MADE THE VISITING TEAM, DANCE TO THE AFRICAN RHYTHMS – IT WAS WONDERFUL!

Sunday, the 5th of July, was another special day that Wiphan-Zambia and the visiting team had. The service opened up with American worship songs from Adam – it was extremely awesome!

After Adam sang, we had 3 diffrerent Zambian choir groups sing Zambian songs – God was highly worshiped and His name was greatly glorified.
I kept translating Bemba songs into English to help the visiting team understand the meaning of the songs.

When the service ended, the visiting friends broke up into 4 groups and went into the compound of Mapalo to visit sponsored children.

From the first time, Wiphan-Zambia ladies heard about the conference Mama Doris was coming to conduct, there had been great anticipation among wiphan-ladies, and they could not wait to hear Mama Doris preach.

Early morning of Monday, Wiphan-ladies gathered at Sinia center, in readiness to walk down to the Castle lodge. Before the ladies got themselves to the lodge, I took Chuck, Ingrid, Amy and Addie to Sinia center, left them there and they joined the rest of Wiphan-ladies and walked down with them to the lodge – it was an exciting moment. Chuck, Ingrid, Amy and Addie, enjoyed walking with the ladies from Sinia to the Castle lodge.  By almost 09.00hrs, the ladies were already by the Castle lodge entrance and after the calling of the roster and giving of the name-tags were done, all the the ladies were sitted in the conference hall by 10.hrs.

Later,  Adam was invited to the stage to lead in worship with his beaultiful American worship songs and God was worshiped among His women. later, Wiphan choir also sang 2 songs and after worship, Mama Doris took the pulpit and preached VERY INSPIRING WORD OF GOD. Mama Doris taught Wiphan-ladies some of the names of God;
1. JEHOVAH ROI     -  God, the Chief Shephered of our lives
2. JEHOVAH NISSI   -  God, our Banner and our victory
3. JEHOVAH TSHIKEN -  God, our Righteousness
4. JEHOVAH JIREH   -  God, our Provider

Mama Doris later taught Wiphan-ladies HOW DEEP AND GREAT, GOD’S LOVE IS, FOR EACH ONE OF US. At the end of Mama Doris preaching, all Wiphan-ladies were given printed scriptures, which have been of great help and extremely inspiring. Wiphan-ladies will never forget the conference – the ladies were encouraged, inspired and they will never forget THE CONFERENCE.
IT WAS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND AND WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED.

On Tuesday, the visiting team presented letters to Wiphan kids from their U.S penpals and it was extremely exciting!  Wiphan-kids were overwhelmed by the love shown to them by the American penpals and they felt God loves them so very much. Wiphan kids read lovely letters from their penpals and they also replied back and it was lovely.

On wednesday, around 09.00hrs, Wiphan-Zambia led the visiting team to Mapalo center where children were observed learning in their respective grades and classrooms. Thereafter, all the kids assembled for a presentation of songs and poems to the U.S. guests.

later, the kids were made to split into four groups. There were four different stations set up with diffrerent events for kids to participate in.  The four different stations were Science Demonstration A,B, Bible Songs/Bible story and parachute games.  OOooooh, Wiphan-kids saw what they have never seen before and they were extremely amused and excited as they heard Adam and Leslie sing songs and share Bible stories with them, and as Professor Barry mixed the sweets plus coke and there was great splashing of the coke which ended up ‘baptising’ all the on-lookers – very exciting moment, and as Nancy did the balloons, let them in the air and kids saw them meander in the air and as they held the parachute and felt like they were flying – oooohhh!it was a day of exciting events for Mapalo kids and they will never forget. visiting friends MADE A DAY FOR WIPHAN-KIDS AT MAPALO.

Later, the sewing classes were  so blessed to have Amy, teach them how to make a bag and the sewing class was extremely grateful for the knew knowlegde acquired. The knitting class displayed the table clothes they have been making. The cookery class made african peanut butter and African polony, which our visiting guests enjoyed eating. It was a great day for the ladies.

Thursday, was a big day for Sinia.  What was done at Mapalo on Wednesday is exactly what was repeated at Sinia. Kids at Sinia, also enjoyed the splashing coke, blown and meandering balloons, singing and the Bible sharing and the parachute games. it was exciting, immaculate and amusing. On behalf of Wiphan-Zambia, a million thanks for all that was shown to the kids, they will live to remember.

At 15.00hrs, Wiphan Boy-Soccer team played a match against their neighbouring school and won the match 2 – 1.  Wiphan scored 2 and their opponents had a goal in the very last minute. Wiphan Boy-Soccer team is a very strong and we are very confident that it will continue performing well.

OOOOH, IT’S BEEN A GREAT WEEK, MARVELOUS WEEK, FANTASTIC WEEK, A WEEK OF GREAT FUN, WEEK OF SWEET MEMORIES, WEEK OF NEW FRIENDSHIPS, WEEK OF GREAT INTERACTIONS – PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE LORD, GREAT PRAISE BE TO THE LORD.

On behalf of the widows and the orphans at Wiphan,
Wiphan-Zambia management wishes to express deep heart
gratitude for the constant love and financial support
that is  rendered to us, which have made the running of the
programmes at Wiphan very smoothly. God richly, richly bless you,
Wiphan-Usa for your kind generosity

Rose, Grace, & Ann…

July 1st, 2009

ROSE TELLS HER STORY…
Rose was once a vulnerable woman. Married to a husband, with 3 children. Because of the high levels of unemployment in Zambia, hunger and starvation hit her home and as a family, they almost died of hunger. Her husband later ran away from her because he could not cope up with the challenges they were facing as a family. In the midst of all that hopelessness, Rose heard about Wiphan and all the skills training that was being offered to the students. Rose came and enrolled and learned a tailoring skill. She was one of the best students in her intake and today, Rose is now an instructor at Wiphan, teaching tailoring skills. She thanks God for Wiphan and all that Wiphan has done for her.  She gets a pay monthly and she testifies, hunger has ‘run’ away from her home and it is now, the thing of the past.  Praise be to God.

GRACE TELLS HER STORY…
Grace, widowed at a very tender age, lost all that she and her late husband had, after the death of her husband. Property was grabbed from her, she was rejected and was left in the cold, with her two small children. Wondering what the future held in store for her, in the midst of hopelessness and despair, Rose, (tailoring instructor) met Grace on the road, wiping away tears, she testifies!  Rose was touched and had a conversation with Grace.  Rose told her, she could not give her fish to eat but could ‘teach her how to catch fish’! Rose invited Grace to Wiphan’s skills training and had her enrolled into knitting class. Grace did knitting at Wiphan and was one of the best students. Grace graduated and now, she is now working for a knitting company, downtown. Praise and glory be to God, in the highest.  Grace blesses the day she met Rose and she thanks God for Wiphan and all that the Lord has done for her, through Wiphan.

ANN ALSO TELLS HER STORY…
Ann, was once a vulnerable woman. Married, with 5 children but later was deserted by her husband.  Ann’s husband ran away from her for more than two years. Hunger and hopelessness were the order of the day in her home. Diseases, caused by hunger, kept hitting her children and in the midst of such hopelessness and desperation for survival, Ann heard about Wiphan and all that was being offered. Ann ‘ran for her life’ and got enrolled into the tailoring class. Ann worked very hard and got the ‘know how’ of the tailoring skill. Ann, now rejoices as she teaches tailoring skills to Wiphan ladies at the Mapalo Center. She is on Wiphan pay-roll and she testifies that HUNGER AND HOPELESSNESS, is the thing of the past!!! Praise be to God.

WIPHAN-ZAMBIA, HAS BECOME A PLACE OF;
1.  HOPE         TO  THE  HOPELESS
2.  REFUGE       TO  THE  REJECTED
3.  STRENGTH     TO  THE  WEAK
4.  ACCEPTANCE   TO  THE  REJECTED
5.  HEALING      TO  THE  SICK
6.  SURVIVAL     TO  THE  DYING
7.  KNOWLEDGE    TO  THE  IGNORANT
8.  HOME OF LOVE TO  THE  CAST AWAYS

More testimonies from Wiphan Widows…

June 28th, 2009

NISHA BANDA TELLS HER STORY…
Nisha Banda, a very young widow, aged 20, lost her husband 5 years ago. She, too, went through a lot of oppression and experienced hostility from her in-laws. Property was grabbed away from her.  She was rejected and left alone with her one small child. Left alone in the cold and not knowing what to do next, she heard about Wiphan Care Ministries and all that is offered.  She came and enrolled and did cookery and home management. Nisha graduated the other year and now works at a lodge within Ndola. She thanks God for Wiphan.

BERTHA TELLS HER STORY…
Bertha also got widowed at a very tender age, at age 23. She also experienced rejection from her in-laws and property taken away from her. All she remained with was her children.  She had nowhere to go and live.  She later decided to go and live with her mother. Her mother had nothing much to offer her but encouraged her to join Wiphan skills training.
Bertha did tailoring but concentrated much on cookery and home management.

Bertha, has now found a job of cooking food at an Indian restaurant.  She is very excited and thanks God for Wiphan and all that Wiphan has done for her!!!!

Picture of a widow…Monica’s Story

June 25th, 2009

Kunda recently sat down with several of Wiphan’s widows and interviewed them.  Their stories are amazing and a true testimony to God’s love and grace.  Below is a brief description of what widows across Africa experience as the “norm” when they lose their spouse. Following this is the first of several personal stories of triumph from our ladies.  In the days to follow, be sure to visit Kunda’s blog to hear more stories from our widows.  Next week we will have a team traveling to Zambia to minister specifically to the widows in the Wiphan program by providing a women’s day conference in Ndola.

From Kunda…

Beloved Saints – Wiphan-Usa,

Once again, it is with much pleasure writing this report, concerning the challenges that an African widow and an orphan face and how God has used Wiphan Care Ministries to minister healing and restoration to the widows and orphans who come to Wiphan centers.

AFRICAN VIEW OF A WIDOW AND AN ORPHAN
In Africa and especially Zambia, when a woman loses a spouse, it becomes automatic that the widow remains with a ghost of her deceased husband – VERY SAD AND WRONG  MENTALITY.

Becoming a widow in Zambia, is such a great challenge! As a widow, you become a ghost-carrier of your late husband and as an orphan, you become a ghost-carrier of your late father and because of that relatives, friends and neighbors detest you, reject you and have nothing to do with you -very sad state of affairs.  This is the same reason, relations of the deceased, grab property, break relational-ties with the widow and her children and reject she and the children – very very sad, and this is what 90% of the Zambian widows go through. I, too, experienced such rejection and property was taken away from us because people who do not know the Lord believe in ghosts and are very much afraid of ghosts and can’t associate with ‘widows who have ghosts’ and this is a very serious matter in Africa and Zambia. An African/Zambian mind is a very superstitious mind and is always preoccupied by spirits and ghosts, except for those of us who are in Christ.

MONICA NSHOKOSHI TELLS HER STORY…………………

Monica Nsokoshi, has been a widow for more than 20 years now.  When her husband died, she vowed never to re-marry because of the brutality and hostility she faced from her in-laws. Her in-laws rejected she and her children,  grabbed property from her and demanded that she pay them alot of money – this is unheard of in America but this is so real in Africa/Zambia.

and no hope for ‘tommorrow’. Her future looked bleak and dark. She kept wondering who would come to her aid and help her stand on her two feet once again and as she kept praying and seeking the face of God for her survival, she heard about Mama Monica with her 10 orphaned children became very lonely and a cast away. All she had was Christ. She did know what to do and where to touch. She lived a life of hopelenessWiphan care Ministries, joined Wiphan skills training and learned all the skills.

When Mama Nsokoshi came to Wiphan, she was first and foremost exposed to the word of God and went through prayer that helped her forgive her in-laws and she was helped to receive healing to her crushed and broken heart. Mama Nsokoshi learned how to make attires from her tailoring skill, she also learned how to make samoosas, fritters, which she makes and sells every day and earns a living at the ‘end of the day’.

Mama Nsokoshi has a wonderful testimony concerning what God has done for her through Wiphan. At Wiphan, she received healing to her broken soul, learned skills which are helping her feed her orphans and also orphaned grandchildren. She is very grateful that, last year, she even built a maddy house and she proudly says that Wiphan was established for her! Because of what she learned at Wiphan, she now has a job at Wiphan – Praise be to God!!!

Messages of gratitude…

June 9th, 2009

Sweet-beloveds,

Grace, peace and love to you all, wonderful saints in the precious name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  It is always exciting reporting about the good things the Lord is doing at Wiphan.

Last week was another exciting week.  It wasn’t just exciting but humbling at the same time, as MESSAGES OF GRATITUDE CAME TO THE ATTENTION of Wiphan management from both students and care-givers.

As per Wiphan’s custom, students at both centers had an assembly, where the word of God was shared and prayers said, to commit the week in the hands of God, for guidance and protection.

Learning as usual commenced after the assembly and after learning was over, the meal was presented to the kids, as usual, and kids expressed gratitude as they ate and enjoyed their nshima with beans and cabbage vegetables.

There is a STRIKE (‘tools down’ by government teachers) going on across the nation of Zambia because all teachers are demanding for salary increment. The strike started on Monday, last week and it is not yet known when exactly its end shall be.  The 8th graders with their caregivers visited Wiphan office to express their heartfelt gratitude for all the educational support, Wiphan has rendered to their children. We told them, it has taken God’s mercy and faithfulness.  We also mentioned to them that it has taken the OBEDIENCE and KIND GENEROSITY OF GOD’S WONDERFUL SAINTS for us to see Wiphan kids excel in their education. One of the caregivers prayed, thanking God for Wiphan-Usa and for all the educational help they have rendered to the orphans and vulnerable children at Wiphan-Zambia.  It was such an awesome time of prayer.

Later in the week, caregivers crowded Wiphan centers, to plead with us never to join the government teachers who have gone on strike.  We assured them that we will not go on strike being a Christian ministry, and we told them we do all that we do at Wiphan to serve God. Caregivers rejoiced to hear that Wiphan schools will not participate in the strike going on.

GREAT THINGS THE LORD HAS DONE AT WIPHAN, AND HE IS GREATLY TO BE PRAISED.

Messages of thanks and appreciation from both students and the caregivers keep coming to Wiphan office for:
-  GOOD EDUCATION BEING OFFERED TO THE ORPHANS AND WIDOWS
-  KIDS MEAL PROGRAM
-  MEALIE-MEAL DISTRIBUTION TO THE WIDOWS
-  MOBILE CLINIC
-  WORD OF GOD AND PRAYERS
AND ALL THE WONDERFUL INCENTIVES GIVEN TO THE KIDS – SHOES, UNIFORMS, ETC, ETC, THE LIST IS ACTUALLY ENDLESS.

Wiphan ladies have continued to enjoy their skills training in tailoring, knitting and cookery. Four graduates from Wiphan skills training have found jobs and these are:
1.Bertha Nsokoshi – Now cooks at an Indian eating place
2.Joyce Banda     – Now cooks at a restuarant down town.
3.Grace Bwalya    – Now knits at a knitting company
4.Memory Chibwe   – Now a tailor at a shop down town.

PRAISE BE TO GOD, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND HE IS GREATLY TO BE PRAISED.
WIPHAN-USA,

Bye for now. More news next week.

Update from Kunda…

May 27th, 2009

Wonderful Saints – Wiphan-Usa,

God, gives the best and every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord! YOU, ARE TO US, GOD-GIVEN PRECIOUS GIFT AND WE THANK GOD FOR YOU.

Last week was another good week, in which we saw the goodness and the mercies of the Lord.

Wiphan students, as usual, report to school on Mondays, with lots of excitement and enthusiasm to learn. Monday, being the first day of the week, Wiphan-students at both centers have a very special meeting called ASSEMBLY, where a few verses from the Word of God are read to all the students and teachers and prayers are said, to commit the week in the hands of God for God’s guidance, enablement and protection. Wiphan-Zambia is very grateful for the coming in of the Bibles, they have been very handy and have helped greatly in the sharing of God’s word to the students. Alot of Wiphan students are slowly discovering who God is and are surrendering their lives to him – praise be to God.

Wiphan students have continued to enjoy their learning and eating. Illnesses caused by hunger, among Wiphan students, have drastically reduced and PRAISE BE TO GOD.

Later in the day, wiphan ladies danced and celebrated and thanked God as they recieved their mealie meal. Mealie-meal is hard to find in the homes of widows and orphans.  The provision of the mealie-meal to Wiphan widows has lifted hunger off their homes – WHAT A SWEET AND KIND GESTURE SHOWN! Widows shed tears of joy each time they gather to receive mealie-meal.

Apart from learning, wiphan students are extremely excited and very grateful for another added day to their meal programme. PRAISE, GLORY AND THANKS TO THE LORD OUR GOD, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND HE IS GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!

TONNES AND TONNES OF LOVE,

Kunda for Wiphan.

Cape of Good Hope!

May 20th, 2009

Beloveds – Wiphan-Usa,

Glory, honour, adoration, praises and thanks be to the Lord, our God, who, through His son Jesus Christ, enables us to do all things!!!. No wonder Paul has said “we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Wiphan Care Ministries, that was once JUST A DREAM, by the grace of God, has now become a REALITY – PRAISE BE TO GOD!

Monday, the 11th of May, was the day all schools across the nation of zambia, (Wiphan schools included) opened school, for the second term and  this second term shall run from the 11th of May through to the 7th of August. Wiphan-kids kept reporting to their respective centers even during April holiday to have their meals but Monday the 11th of May, brought with it, extra-ordinary excitement and joy, as kids reported to their respective centers bearing in mind that holiday time was over and TIME TO START LEARNING HAD COME!

Assembly at both centers was conducted, where the Word of God was shared to Wiphan students and also prayers were conducted to commit the new term in the hands of the almighty God.

A heart-melting story was told by a grade 3 teacher from Mapalo center. As she monitored the eating of the students, she saw 2 kids eat one ban and drink part of the tea, leaving 2 bans and part of the tea and when she asked to find out why the 2 students kept some of the food they were given, they failed to answer and friends told the teacher that they always keep part of the food they recieve so that they take it to their very old grandmother, who is their care-giver. The two kids are double orphans and their very old grandmother (unable to fend for herself and her grandchildren) is the one who lives with them. I shed tears when such news got to my ears. Dinah, grade 3 class teacher, has been given an assignment to find where old mama lives and the Wiphan board will start taking mealie-meal, once a month, to old mama so that her grand children ‘graduate’ from taking food from school to her.

Four more students were seen packing food in their bags. The 4 students come from  a CHILD – HEADED home. The four students are double orphans and after their parents died, all their relations rejected them and ran away from them, leaving them with no one to care for them. The 4 kids were brought to Wiphan 4 years ago now, by a ‘good Samaritan, who witnessed how relations abandoned the 4 kids. The class teacher has been given an assignment to find out where the four kids live and thereafter the 4 kids and very old mama, will be visited by both Wiphan board and the management.

Normal activities at both centers, for the young students went on very well. Students enjoyed their lessons and their meal. Students at both centers engaged in sports Janet taught them and they enjoyed the sports greatly. Wiphan’s soccer team is doing trainings as they prepare for a match against a neighboring community school, on the 5th of June.

WIPHAN-ZAMBIA HAS BECOME A ‘CAPE’ OF GOOD HOPE’ for the hopeless widows and orphans and the vulnerables generally speaking.  Orphans who completely lost hope of having an opportunity to go to school, now have hope to at least even get basic education and skill that will sustain them and God shall be glorified, at the end of the day.

The song that is being sang at Wiphan is ‘BECUASE OUR REDEMMER LIVETH, WIPHAN-ZAMBIA SHALL FACE TOMORROW’.  A people, whose life was covered with gross darkness, now have the light of God shine on them. A people, who once had no hope, now have hope of facing their future with lots of confidence in and through Christ – glory be to God.

TONNES AND TONNES OF LOVE,

Meals & Medicine

April 29th, 2009

It is, once again, with lots of pleasure, joy and excitement, to write down this report and just mention to you the wonders that the Lord is doing at Wiphan-Zambia with the help of the Lord through the wonderful saints – Wiphan-USA.

As usual, Wiphan students, at both centers gather to have meals with lots of joy, excitement and gratitude of heart. Nshima with beans was cooked and saved to the students. Students received and enjoyed the meal, expressing deep heartfelt appreciation for such kind and wonderful gesture shown to them. Students testified that hunger is no longer felt like it did before the meal program was introduced.

BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE – ADOPTED WIPHAN STUDENTS BY BRIGHT-POINT ARE ON-LINE ALREADY!!!!!! Great and excellent news.  God richly bless Wiphan-USA and BrightPoint for taking on Wiphan students for sponsorship. WE WILL NEVER THANK YOU ENOUGH.

BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE, BIG PRAISE FOR AN ADDED DAY TO THE MEAL PROGRAM!
The above news made me dance – glory be to God.

THE MOBILE CLINIC

Apart from the meal programme, Sister Mary conducted a mobile clinic and  administered medication to Wiphan-ladies. 20 ladies with different sicknesses and diseases were attended to and received the medical help they needed. Five out of the 20 sick ladies had critical Malaria, but we thank God that Sister Mary was able to diagnose the critical Malaria and administered Malaria drug very quickly. Other ladies had the flu and sister Mary administered flu medication to them.  Later in the day, sister Mary, visited my daughter Abby at home who has had Malaria and administered Malaria medication to her. Abby is feeling much better  now and will be able to get back to her job any time soon.

Wiphan-Zambia is very grateful for what both the meal programme and the mobile clinic have done for God’s people at Wiphan, in the past and this ending week. The high levels of poverty and hunger are no longer felt in the homes of the Wiphan widows and orphans – big praise items!

On behalf of Wiphan students, Wiphan ladies, the teaching staff and the management, thank you so very much for all the wonderful programs, taking place at Wiphan-Zambia. Praise and thanks be to God who has made all things possible. A million thanks to Wiphan-Usa, beautiful vessels, our God has been using – God richly, richly bless you all.

TONNES AND TONNES OF LOVE,

Kunda for Wiphan.

Stronger & Healthier

March 21st, 2009

The Bible, in the book of Ephesians 3;20-21 says that “Now unto Him, who is able to do exceeding abundantly, above all that we ask or think or even imagine, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be the glory in the church (at Wiphan) by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end!!!!!!”

God in Heaven, is truly FAITHFUL. He does things beyond our expectation! Great things He has done at Wiphan and He is greatly to be praised.

lots of good and wonderful things are happening at Wiphan.
Wiphan kids have continued to enjoy their lessons with very keen interest in learning and studying.

Wiphan kids, have continued to express gratitude as they enjoy their meals that the school provides to them. wiphan kids are always saying ‘thank you’ to Wiphan management for the food that is provided to them. Looking at the high levels of poverty prevailing in a lot of homes, the meal – program could not have come at a better time than this!!!!
A lot of Wiphan kids keep testifying that they are now fully awake in class because hunger has become a thing of the past. Because of lack of food in alot of orphaned homes, kids that come to learn at Wiphan schools, would dose and sleep in class and fail to concentrate because the brain would be too weak because kids slept on an empty stomach almost everyday. Saints, thank you for feeding the needy. Hunger here, is something that is so REAL. Glory be to God that hunger is being combatted and there is no more SLEEPING IN CLASS.

A million thanks for Wiphan’s mobile clinic. After Sister Mary dewormed Wiphan kids, Ringworms and skin rushes, have become a thing of the past. Sister Mary said ‘ the combination of the deworming and meal programme was going to eradicate ringworms and skin rushes and indeed there is lots of improvement as regards to this.’

Apart from sleeping in class as a result of hunger, some of Wiphan kids suffered severe headaches.
Headaches are now a thing of the past and are stronger more active in school.

WOMEN
The care givers are also very grateful for what is happening at wiphan. They are all excited about their opportunities and are looking forward to doing great things.

We know that God has great things in store for us and we look forward to everything he has planned for all of us.

Lots and Lots of Love.

Kunda for Wiphan

How did they do it?

March 11th, 2009

Kids are learning with lots of enthusiasm and are extremely determined to work hard and make it into the eighth grade as their friends did. Wiphan’s first grade sevens who made it into grade eight have become a great source of inspiration to both Wiphan kids and the surrounding community. On Monday of last week, Bernard, the one heading Wiphan school at Mapalo, was approached by grade seven teachers from the surrounding schools to find out the secret of the 99%, pass Wiphan had recorded – very humbling and exciting at the same time! The visiting teachers were shown the curriculum books Wiphan-Usa bought last year, which they said they do not have and Labstone has arranged to offer special lessons on how best the grade sevens can be prepared to pass the grade seven exam. Labstone is a wonderful gift to Wiphan schools.
Kids at both centers enjoyed their meal after school as usual. Care-givers continue to express their deep heart felt appreciation for the meal-programme going on at Wiphan schools. Wiphan_Usa, you have made it happen! A million thanks for your great input wonderful saints.

Wiphan-Zambia schools have made a very good name -  something we least expected but this is what God can do – glory and honour be to His name!   Wiphan-Zambia schools have become a center of attraction to the surrounding schools and to the Zambia Ministry of Education, governing bodies.  Wednesday of last week, was a very exciting day when Wiphan schools received the government officials, who came to find out more about the schools’s  operations and activities.
The government officials were impressed with everything, at and  about Wiphan!   The school infrastructure were highly recommended.   The school curriculum books were greatly appreciated and one of the visiting officials said ‘you have very wonderful curriculum books and this is the secret to the 99% pass Wiphan school recorded at last years grade seven examinations.   The meal-programme and the clinic, were highly recommended and appreciated by the government officials.  Teachers received a ‘pat on their back’ because of  their excellent performance and for  working very  hard.  Wiphan-Usa, receive ‘a pat  on your back’ too.  You have made it happen and God richly bless you.
