Sister School Initiative

Wiphan Care Ministries and Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia developed a partnership in 2014 which began with exchanging prayer requests, class pictures and letters between the schools. The purpose is to provide the opportunity for students, teachers and administrators at FCS and Wiphan Zambia to develop a cross-cultural relationship by sharing resources, experiences, communication and the love of Jesus Christ for the mutual benefit of the children and adults in both schools.

The first team of teachers from Fellowship Christian School visited Zambia in the summer of 2015 to learn the culture, understand the challenges and share the classroom experience with the Wiphan teachers. While in Zambia, the foundation for a continuing relationship was laid between the FCS faculty and the faculty at Wiphan. The Wiphan teachers gained valuable information on teaching strategies, classroom management and personal encouragement. FCS teachers returned with a clearer understanding of the education system in Zambia, the conditions faced by the teachers at Wiphan and ideas for the next trip.

Our goal is to continue in a long term relationship by encouraging the students, faculty and families at FCS to be involved on a personal level through letter writing, service opportunities, prayer support and participation in the future trips to Wiphan Schools in Zambia.
