Wiphan Church Wiphan Skills Training Wiphan Schools

Wiphan Schools

Wiphan has developed two schools campuses on the outskirts of Ndola, Zambia. Each campus serves approximately 200 children grades 1-7. In Zambia over 50% of the population is under the age of 16. The government schools are overcrowded and it is expensive to attend. The result is there are hundreds of thousands of elementary aged children who don’t attend school. The most critical cases are the children who are orphaned and are left to be cared for by relatives.  Wiphan was formed to address this problem. Wiphan provides a free education to orphaned and vulnerable children. In addition to education, Wiphan provides medical attention as well as daily meals.

One of our programs we implemented was to have our children develop relationships with Americans to develop them culturally and to let them know that there are people in a distant land are thinking and praying for them. The kids call this program the “pen pal” program and they all seek to have a special pen pal in the United States. to learn more about how you can be involved in this program please click here.

Sinia School

Wiphan’s Sinia campus is located in the large compound called Sinia Compound. located just on the outskirts of Ndola, this campus was the first established by Wiphan (see it on google maps). The school formerly was an old tavern that the ministry purchased and renovated. The school has 4 classrooms, community room, bathroom facilities with showers, kitchen, running water, electricity and is home to our Wiphan administrative offices. Sinia campus is the heart of the ministry.

Sinia school serves students in grades 1-7. The success of the schools is directly attributed to the committed staff Wiphan has assembled. Led by Labstone Chanda, Wiphan director, Sinia school employs 6 teachers who are committed to the success of their students.

Mapalo School

Mapalo campus is located approximately one mile from our Sinia Campus located deeper in the compound further from Ndola (see it on google maps). Mapalo school was built from the ground up and is a traditional school building you find in Zambia. It has 4 classrooms, 2 administrative offices, bathroom facilities with showers, kitchen, running water and electricity.

Again, the school serves grades 1-7 and is led by our wonderful, committed teachers.
